About Spammers
Most people hate spammers and want to know how to avoid them, get rid of them and just why they spam. I'll try to tell you from my point of view.
Why spammers spam
Spammers mainly spam because they like to bug people. They like to get attention so they spam. They also may spam on that person's site if they hate that person just to get back at them. They also spam because they are bored. I sometimes spam on msn. Me and my friends have a spam fight :3 Anyway, those are mainly the reasons why spammers spam. There might be other reasons but those are a few basic ones that I think.
How to avoid
There isn't really a 100% way to stop spammers. Spammers are everywhere. You can't stop them. One way is that if you go on a dead site or just a popular one where the webmaster doesn't update often or check the c-box, there might be a whole bunch of spammers. Some named ":)" some also named letters like "kkfsihf". If you want to post on that site, I wouldn't put in your e-mail or website in the website/e-mail section on the c-box. Its more then likely that the spammers want to find another place to spam. Other then that you can't stop them or limit the amount of spammers you get.
What to do if a spammer is on your site/c-box
If a spammer is spamming on your c-box, don't tell them to stop. The reason is because there is a 99.9% chance they won't. Like I said spammers don't listen and like to annoy people and get attention. If you just ignore them and IP. ban them, they won't be getting the attention they want. They most likely will get bored and leave to spam somewhere else. Just IP. Ban them and don't post anything about the spammer. Just delete the messages from the spammer and IP. ban him/her. Make sure you ban him/her "forever" that way they can't come back and spam. They could still see your site, they just can't post on the c-box. If you have fusionnews/cutenews make sure to ban them from that so they can't spam there too.
Well those are my tips and point of view about the most annoying spammers. Remember, don't get angry and yell at them. It only makes you look bad. Just ignore them and ban them and they will leave you alone.
