Layout tips
Hey there! You've come to the page where you want to learn about how to make your layouts awesome. Sweet. Then read on. Hurry now!Tip 1
NO EYE HURTING COLOURS!
Pretty basic, you've heard that on every Pokemon website. In short words: Don't mix yellow with lime green ok? Use common sense. If the colours make you squint or move away from your monitor, they aren't good colours and will blind your visitors. Even if you have a style switcher, don't make it the main style or people won't be able to find the style switcher link.
Tip 2
DON'T MAKE THE WORDS COLOUR THE SAME AS THE CONTENT SECTION COLOUR!
This really bugs me. When I have to high-light the words to read them. Just don't do it. An example would be a nice yellow with one shade difference. Its hard to read! No more explaining needed :)
Tip 3
DON'T MAKE NAV BAR DESIGNS DOUBLE!!!
I did this once. It didn't go over to well. Its not that the words were hard to read, it just doesn't look nice...at all. Don't do it please. (I mean you can if you want but it doesn't look nice)
Tip 4
DON'T ADD TOO MUCH SPARKLES!
Sparkles look nice, don't get me wrong. Just they look too much when you over use them XD The same with scanlines. If you over use them, they start looking not so nice and its annoying when all of your graphics have scanlines in them(I did that once...trust me on this one)
Tip 5
USE COLOURS THAT GO TOGETHER NICELY!
Its hard to find nice colours that look nice together. Use an all purple layout. With different shades of purple. Or do blue. Just don't do red, purple and green. It just looks weird. But if your an experienced webmaster/mistress, then go ahead! Challenge yourself. But if your a beginner, I'd suggest to use all one colour. Or two colours, as long as they match :) Then you can move on to more than two colours.
Thats all! I hope you found this useful :3
